Worship Update 22nd July 2021

The Church Council met today and the following was agreed:

Face Coverings and Social Distancing:

We are no longer required by law to wear face coverings, nor to distance ourselves from one another. However, as Covid 19 infections continue to increase the Council has decided that we ask adults to continue as we have been doing:

· booking a place in church;

· wearing a face covering;

· hand sanitising and maintaining social distance.

The only difference is that if you wish to remove your face covering once you are seated, you can do so. We will continue to be seated on every other pew and ask that people do not move around the church etc.

If you feel too vulnerable to be in the main body of the church, you are still welcome to ask to sit further away from people.

To be a follower of Jesus is to consider the welfare of others before ourselves, and to act accordingly.

Congregational singing

We will continue to worship without singing. Also, we do not have an organist at the moment which is something we will be addressing.

We understand that many of you have been looking forward to the restrictions being lifted fully. Our hope and aim is for us to return to restriction-free public worship as soon as it is safe and sensible to do so. In the meantime, I thank you for your patience.

Holy Communion

We will continue to be received in 'one kind' - wafer only.

Please continue to pray for our church, community, and country; that the vaccination programme would continue to positively impact the rate of infection. Pray also for the global situation, that western governments would find the will and the means to enable vaccines to get to the world's poorest nations and people.

With every blessing, June
