Church of England Diocese of Liverpool Warrington

About Us

St. Elphin’s are a community following Jesus, seeking renewal in our town of Warrington.

It is our desire to see the Gospel of Jesus transform Warrington into something even greater than it is.

Our Identity

St. Elphin’s are a community of people who have been renewed by the Gospel of Jesus and have devoted our lives to following Him. We love God, one another, and our town. It is our desire to communicate the unchanging truth of the person and work of Jesus Christ in a way that everyone in our town and culture can comprehend. We are a friendly, open and welcoming parish who seek to reflect the love of God as we try to serve the needs of not only the people in the parish but also the wider community of Warrington.

St. Elphin's Sunday Eucharistic services and Evensong are of a liberal catholic persuasion and vestments are worn, however we also have more contemporary worship such as our all-age services on the first Sunday of the month and our NEW [email protected] service, which has a café style approach with modern worship songs and a more informal atmosphere.

We hope that you will be able to join us for one of our services and look forward to welcoming you.

About our building

St. Elphin's is a Grade II* listed church with a spectacular 281ft tower and spire and is one of the most prominent landmarks for miles around. The church has borne witness to the enduring truth of the Christian Gospel and been a central part of community life in Warrington for many generations of worshippers. There has been a church on site since around 650AD but the present building has grown from a 14th century core.
