Parish Care Team (PCT)

Co-ordinator: Mrs Gill Whitticombe

The Parish Care Team was set up around 4 years ago and consists of a dedicated team of volunteers who are on call to visit those in need: the sick, either in hospital, at home or in a care home; those who are housebound; the bereaved.

Information is passed to the co-ordinator from various sources, and one or more of the team will be asked to visit, and report back.  If action is required from the clergy this is reported immediately, otherwise visits are recorded on a monthly basis, with an annual overview.

Some members of the PCT are licensed to take Holy Communion to the sick and housebound ane these visits are also reported to the co-ordinator.  The Ministerial Team, sometimes supported by members of the PCT, visit the bereaved, mainly to prepare for funerals.

As a PCT we would like to extend our skills by being able to offer bereavement counselling, but will need training to do so.
